James Little: explore editor
Start spreading the news...
As the editor of explore, I'm the one who's responsible for all the headlines that appear in the magazine. Which means that every time you see a bad pun or something else that makes you groan, it's my fault.
I think that probably nobody groans more than my senior contributing editor J.B. MacKinnon. Every time he writes a column, James supplies a headline that he thinks perfectly sums up his piece. And then I usually change it. As he notes, frequently with a silly pun based on something like a song title. Which is why James sent me the following comment after one of my recent blog posts: "Great title for that blog by the way. "New York, New York"--have I heard that somewhere before?"
Oh well. The good news is that I'm actually using James's headline for his column in our upcoming June issue. It's called "Poolside in Hell." You'll have to read the issue to find out why it's just right.
