Team kayaking hits the big screen

Jackson Kayaks makes a two person whitewater kayak called the Dynamic Duo. I haven't paddled one in whitewater yet, but have played around with the boat on flatwater. We tandem rolled it, jetted across the lake way faster than we expected and basically had a blast. It's incredibly wide, long and awkward to carry. But it's comfortable to paddle and has a planing hull. Rolling it was no problem as long as both guys know what they're doing. I couldn't roll it by myself and had a beginner swim out of it on one occasion. Sorry Nathan. Apparently it surfs beautifully. The only thing I don't like is Jackson's seats. They're filled with little balls. You're supposed to sit in it and then suck the air out through an air bag style hose. The balls then mold to your butt. I find it kind of squishy. I prefer a firmer platform to paddle from. But what do I know.

A couple of Teva athletes hucked a Dynamic Duo off a 70-foot waterfall; the squishy seat didn't bother them. The feat is captured on film, of course, and is part of a funny clip satirizing paddling a double kayak. It's well worth watching.
