Tofino is located on the north west side of Vancouver Island. It is found around the Clayoquot Sound. It is a relatively small fishing sort of community, that also has some wildlife viewing tours such as whale tours etc. This is dependant on the season that it is.

Also around this area is the Pacific Rim area where Ucluelet and other towns are as well.

Surfing in Tofino is rugged. The water is cold and the waves are big during the stormy winter season. During the summer the waves are generally a bit smaller but the water isn't much warmer.

Long Beach is just south of Tofino and is a beautiful, long, windswept beach. This is where the majority of the surfing on the island takes place.

Long Beach is a provincial park and therefore access is excellent and parking is abundant. Please note that with it being a provincial park, that you will likely need to have some coin for the parking. It is 3.00/day at the park, or any provincial parks.

This is Canadian surfing at its best. Long Beach has waves similar to that of Hawaii, and there are a lot of surfers that make use of these waves. Please note that with it being so cold, that during the winter, you should consider wearing a wetsuit.
